Devlog #3

Done List:

1. Experimented with claymation using Photoshop and my hands; created a Hylics-style animation.

2. Talked to a music maker friend who can help me with some of the soundtrack; showed him some *moodboard* playlists where I'll continue to update music that I found matching the vibes of my game. You can listen to one of them here! https://open.spotify.com/playlist/3hNj3C64TtNdyoCXlRMKc1?si=effbd8fce139481f

3. Made a bunch of clay models as environmental objects and characters in the game; applied post processing effects using photoshop to give them the "Hylics" look.

4. Explored different visual styles and decided to not use the ditherpunk style and shifted to a more claymation + drawn animation style.

5. Settled on basic ui and gameplay interaction; halfway through making a google slides visual prototype.

Questions regarding future production:

1. Is the making of each scene art (background, assets, animations etc.) gonna take too much time? Can I make it more modular after I settle on the art style and gameplay?

2. How do I design simple ui that matches the visual style of the game? How to potentially add more kinds of interactions and perhaps mini games based on core gameplay?

Basically last week I've settled on the overall aesthetics of this game after some exploration. This week I'm moving on to the next production phase that focuses on narrative refinement & research, while also wrapping up the visual experimentation.
